As a high school senior, Dr. Candace got a job as a receptionist at a veterinary clinic. Although she loved animals, she had never considered being a veterinarian, but it wasn’t long before she realized that she wanted to pursue a career as a vet. She quickly joined the technicians in the back of the hospital and a few years later she became a licensed veterinary technician. Working with animals brought her much joy and satisfaction and she pursued her undergraduate degree at Kennesaw State University while working part time. She graduated from KSU in 2011 with a Bachelors of Science in Biology. In 2012, her hard work paid off and she received her acceptance letter to veterinary school at the University of Georgia.
Dr. Candace will be stepping down from her full-time roll, but she’ll still be available for surgeries.
Candace has been married to her husband, Jay, since 2008. Prior to entering veterinary school, they had their first child, Conner. He is now 6 years old and soon to be a first grader. They recently welcomed their newest bundle of joy, Maddie (9 months). They have a golden retriever named Cruz and two cats, Lily and Daisy.
Candace grew up in Woodstock, GA and now resides in Suwanee. Her special interests include surgeries and laser therapy, specifically in patients with osteoarthritis. Her hobbies include reading mystery novels, decorating, watching sports, and spending time with her family.
