Laser Therapy for Dogs & Cats in Duluth, GA

Before lending its regenerative effects to pets, laser therapy was commonly used as a sports injury treatment for humans. At Tiger Tails Animal Hospital, we use it for chronic conditions like arthritis and achy joints, and for acute conditions and speeding up recovery time for our patients after their surgeries. And that is just a few ways we can use laser therapy for dogs and cats to relieve pain and inflammation and accelerate healing. Call us at (770) 817-9565 to see if laser therapy could help your pet’s condition!

How it Works

Pet laser therapy is a non-invasive, drug-free treatment that can be applied to many chronic and painful conditions. Here’s how it works: Our handheld laser device emits different wavelengths of light, which safely penetrate skin and muscle tissue. During this process, the tissue cells are renewed, and blood flow is increased around the treatment area.

Some of the conditions laser therapy helps to treat include:

  • Muscle strains and sprains
  • Chronic arthritis
  • Degenerative joint disease
  • Post-surgical wounds
  • Hotspots, other skin conditions, and ear infections

Laser Therapy Sessions

Here at Tiger Tails Animal Hospital, we target your pet’s specific problem area during their laser therapy session. If their condition is chronic and has progressed over an extended period of time, they will likely need multiple sessions for the best results. We determine the length of each session according to the type of pet you have, the condition we want to treat, and the condition’s severity. Sessions last anywhere from three to 20 minutes. We will also determine how often to bring your pet in for sessions on a case-by-case basis.
