Cat and Dog Surgery
Surgery can be stressful for everyone involved, including pets and people. We understand this at Tiger Tails Animal Hospital. That’s why we work hard to make cat or dog surgery as stress-free as possible. Our highly skilled, caring and compassionate staff is dedicated to providing the best available surgical care while remaining focused on your pet’s comfort and safety at all times. By offering many surgical procedures and caring for your pet through every step of the process, we’re able to go above and beyond for the pets of Duluth and all surrounding areas.
Caring for Your Pet at Every Step
Prior to any surgical procedure, pre-anesthetic bloodwork is recommended, and each patient receives a thorough physical examination. If you have a pet over seven years old, they automatically receive a complete blood analysis.
Because we’re accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) and we hold ourselves to the highest standards for patient care, your pet’s vitals are constantly monitored. Throughout surgery, your pet will receive IV fluids to prevent dehydration and any consequences from anesthesia. Afterwards, one of our compassionate team members will soothe your pet as they awaken on a heated table with warm blankets. If appropriate, a laser therapy session will be performed on our pet’s incision to help promote healing and decrease swelling and inflammation. When the time is right to send your pet home, we will thoroughly go over all at-home care instructions. We use a multi-modal approach to pain management during and after your pet’s procedure to help keep them as comfortable as possible.
