Prior to any surgical procedure, pre-anesthetic bloodwork is recommended, and each patient receives a thorough physical exam. If you have a pet over seven years old, they automatically receive a complete blood analysis.
Because we’re accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) and we hold ourselves to the highest standards for patient care, your pet’s vitals are constantly monitored. Throughout surgery, your pet will receive IV fluids to prevent dehydration and any consequences from anesthesia. Afterwards, one of our compassionate team members will soothe your pet as they awaken on a heated table with warm blankets. If appropriate, a laser therapy session will be performed on your pet’s incision to help promote healing and decrease swelling and inflammation. When the time is right to send your pet home, we will thoroughly go over all at-home care instructions. We use a multi-modal approach to pain management during and after your pet’s procedure to help keep them as comfortable as possible.
